I know, I know, I pretty much fell off the face of the earth when it comes to my blog posts but I just felt like there was something missing which is why I decided to add the vlog on YouTube (search Desiree Goose Guzman). But in any case, I am back! My goal is to pair my blog posts with the vlog, and as always, I am open to suggestions and recommendations of what you want to see. Anywho, let's get started!

As I'm sure some of you have seen on my YouTube, I talked a little bit about Paris, around where to stay, what touristy things you should see, etc. But I thought I'd lay them out here and maybe give you an idea of how to schedule a day or two, so here we go!

Day 1 in Paris:

I'm sure it comes as no surprise that the food in Paris is to die for, and I don't know about you all, but breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. So first things first, find some breakfast! Indulge in a buttery croissant with a café au lait or perhaps some crêpes au Nutella. Restaurants and small cafés can be found on just about every corner so don't fret about finding a specific one.

Louvre Museum

After breakfast, take a picturesque stroll down the Seine and head towards the world famous Louvre. I recommend purchasing tickets (with a designated entry time) ahead of time because lines can get very long. https://www.louvre.fr/en/online-tickets

Now, depending on what can of "peruser" you are, you can either do research ahead of time to see where your artist or paintings of interest are, or you can just go in and go with the flow. It's totally up to you! I will say though, the Louvre is insanely big and you will probably get lost at least once, I sure did. If you get hungry for a mid afternoon snack or lunch, there is a patio restaurant and other food kiosks.

Bike rides

Once you've had your fill of artistic culture for the day (and a whole lot of walking), you may be ready to head back to your hotel before hitting the town for dinner and drinks. There's always the choice of taxi or walking back to the hotel or you could rent a bike. There are bike rental stands pretty much on every other block. There will be a small hold on your bank account until the bike is returned to another stand. But either way, you give your feet a rest, enjoy the scenery, and only pay €1.70 per day!

Champs-Élysées

Now that you are recharged and refreshed, it's time for some much needed dinner. I always recommend to have dinner along the Champs-Élysées at least one night. There are so many beautiful stores that line the street that you could pop into before or after dinner. Plus, there's that one Arc there that I'm sure no one has ever heard of ;) There are also plenty of bars for a nightcap.

Day Two:

Luxembourg Garden

Depending on the weather, day two can be more of an outside day. So for day two's breakfast, head down to the Luxembourg Garden. The gardens have food kiosks where you can pick up a light breakfast and sit near a pond surrounded by flowers, sculptures, and other people taking in the day. If you're looking for something more interactive to do, there are tennis courts, bocci ball courts, and even tables for people to play chess. There is also a small pavilion where live music is sometimes played. This is one of my favorite places to visit every time I go to Paris simply because it is so peaceful and everyone there just seems to be enjoying life in its simplicity.

Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower

After the relaxing morning/early afternoon, head NE on foot to see the Notre Dame cathedral. Depending on the day and time you go, there may be a mass going on but you are still allowed to tour inside. Pictures will never do this place justice. The architecture and the stain glass windows are absolutely beautiful. Visiting the cathedral won't take long (unless you stay for mass) so now, onto lunch. I would find a corner market and buy some foods (and wine) for a picnic under the iconic Eiffel Tower. Bring a blanket with you if you can as well. The Eiffel Tower is about 5 miles from Notre Dame so unless you are willing to walk that, either rent a bike again or take a taxi.

Dinner Cruise

Again, after your afternoon refreshing at your hotel, it's probably time for dinner. Be a little adventurous and buy a ticket for a dinner cruise on the Seine. There's the option for champagne as well, so why not pop some bottles?! The views will be nothing short of amazing.

Of course there are SO many more things to do in Paris like the Catacombs, Musée de l'Orangerie, or Sacre Coeur, so don't limit yourself! But definitely have a general plan before you go to mitigate your wandering without actually seeing anything, and also for attractions that require pre-booking. I hope this list helped with your future plans to Paris, and if you have any specific questions, please do not hesitate to ask! Thanks so much for reading.

À bientôt!

Goose, out.
